Have your say!

Managing all kinds of waste is a reality for Regional Districts. But we need and value the input of our communities. This is your chance to get involved with how waste is handled in your community, and even gain some experience for your resume!

There are currently two opportunities for RDKS residents to join steering committees that will have an impact on waste disposal in their communities. Electoral Areas D (Iskut & Telegraph Creek area) and F (Dease Lake area) residents can apply to join the Highway 37 North Solid Waste Steering Committee, and Electoral Area E (Thornhill) residents can apply to join the Thornhill Sewer Steering Committee.

  • Highway 37 North Solid Waste Steering Committee: Along with assistance from a consulting firm and Regional District staff support, this committee will advise and make recommendations concerning Solid Waste service in Electoral Areas D & F to the RDKS Board. Please review the committee’s full Terms of Service.
  • Thornhill Sewer Steering Committee: Along with assistance from a qualified consulting firm and Regional District staff support, this committee will advise and make recommendations concerning sewer service in Thornhill to the RDKS Board. Please review the committee’s full Terms of Service.

Interested? Apply for the Highway 37 committee here, or apply for the Thornhill Sewer committee here.

These are volunteer positions and you can expect to attend one meeting a month on average.
