We would like to recognize the $500,000 donation from an anonymous donor to the Upper Skeena Recreation Centre and thank them for their generous contribution. With the pandemic affecting the operations of the facility, this financial boost is greatly appreciated.
In making the donation, the donor has recognized the ongoing commitment and importance of First Nations, municipalities, and the regional district to work together to ensure that community members, especially the youth, have a safe and interactive place to go.
USRC Advisory Chair, Peter Newbery stated, “Health and unity are vitally important to the people of the Upper Skeena, and we are deeply grateful for this amazingly generous and timely gift. It not only supports the operation of our recreation center at a critical time, but more than that it stimulates our own local commitment to support this essential facility and our continuing effort to work together for the benefit of our children and our whole Upper Skeena community.”
