The District of New Hazelton and the Village of Hazelton are launching an online survey to understand the diverse child care needs of local families in Upper Skeena. The survey is part of a broader project that will help us learn more about child care needs, establish child care space targets and identify actions to meet those targets.
“Working together with all levels of government will help us to identify the specific needs for childcare in the Upper Skeena region. This survey will assist the District, local advocates and caregivers by providing the information necessary to access grants that will enhance the levels of available childcare for all residents of the Upper Skeena.”
– Mayor Gail Lowry, District of New Hazelton
"Affordable and reliable childcare is key to building a strong community. Your participation in the survey will allow local governments to better advocate for more childcare spots in the Upper Skeena to ensure we are able to retain and attract skilled employees in our communities."
– Mayor Dennis Sterritt, Village of Hazelton
The survey is open to anyone who lives or works in Upper Skeena and may need care for children who range in age from birth to 12 years old.
To complete the survey, please follow this link. The survey takes about 15 minutes to complete and will remain open until Friday July 17, 2020.
